A composition about an element caught and made to shine. Ribbons of thousands of vertical rods twist into a giant spiral narrowing toward the bottom — the form of a funnel, which in nature means destruction and here means light.

The light is woven into the arcs rather than hung from them: the structure itself burns, every turn from within.

By day it is a metal funnel with dense hatching of rods — a piece read through lines and twist, strict and monumental. In the evening every turn lights up and the funnel begins to rotate in light: the spiral reads as movement although nothing moves.

Where it works

Atriums and grand staircases several floors high. One of the brand's largest verticals: the composition is designed for a specific shaft and reads differently from every level.

Style

Contemporary sculptural installation and Art Deco: the element as a formal motif. The message is monumental — a piece for a building rather than for a room.
