Lighting composition
LC0409
A composition about the moment between botany and fireworks. Hundreds of fine stems break out from a single centre and fall away into a full sphere — the form can be read as a flower head, a firework or a shower of sparks arrested in the air. The author does not choose: it is exactly that duality that makes the piece universal.
The stems are bronze in tone, with a drop at the end of each.
By day it is a graphic sphere: fine lines radiating from a point, a piece read as silhouette with almost no mass. In the evening a warm drop lights at every end, the stems go into the dark, and what remains is a swarm of lights hanging as a cloud — an explosion stopped at its best phase.
Where it works
Living rooms, dining rooms, lobbies, meeting rooms, and covered outdoor spaces — verandas and terraces. A spherical form has no front: it is placed at the centre of a zone.
Style
Mid-century and natural Art Nouveau: the dandelion as a classic of twentieth-century design. The message is festive and light — a piece for an interior without heaviness.
The diameter of the sphere, the number of stems and the density of the flower head are all made to order.
