A butterfly simplified to two strokes. Raised wings, a sharp edge — a silhouette mid-wingbeat with everything removed except recognisability.

The swarm travels in echelons: some higher, some lower, a few broken away and heading off to the side. Point sources light the elements from the flank and inner currents surface in the mass — swirls invisible under direct light.

By day the composition reads graphically: dark silhouettes on a pale ceiling, almost a draft drawing. In the evening the green deepens to emerald and the swarm is no longer flying through air but through water — the medium changes together with the light.
