A composition about two sides. The element is twisted a half-turn on its central axis, so it shows both faces at once: one white and opaque, the other gold with the texture of leaf. No element is ever wholly warm or wholly cool — the twist will not let you choose.

The bowl is broad and shallow, the mass thinned above and denser below. The elements hang at varied levels and overlap in places — a cloud with a solid floor.

By day it is a cloud of crumpled foil: uneven highlights, a random pattern, the piece read through texture. In the evening the light strikes the gold faces and reflects outward in warm patches, while the white ones stay cool and matte. On one sail you see white, on the next gold — the composition shimmers at the slightest shift of the eye, as though burning in every other element.

Where it works

Living rooms with high ceilings, stairwells, lobbies, double-height spaces. The bowl builds downward, so allow for height.
