A composition about a knot. Broad ribbons are rolled into loops and figures of eight, twisted freely, each in its own way: some form a closed ring, others break off in a sharp end. The incompleteness is deliberate — a knot still being tied.

The reverse of the ribbons is gold, the face white, with faceted clear fragments set between them. The pyramid is dense at the centre, thinned at the edges, with single elements descending below.

By day it is a tangle of ribbons — white with gold and cold sparks, plastic and volumetric. In the evening three finishes give three different glows within one mass: the light strikes the gold linings and emerges in warm patches, the faceted fragments pick it up and scatter it in hard white sparks, and the white face stays cool and matte. A knot with gold burning inside it.

Where it works

Living rooms with high ceilings, lobbies, stairwells, banquet halls. The pyramid needs height — pressed to the ceiling it loses its volume.

Style

Contemporary Art Deco and Hollywood glamour: ribbon, gold, shine. The message is dressy — a piece for a space that likes an effect.
