Lighting composition
LC0098
A composition about a thicket growing downward. From a round mirrored base runs a dense fringe of fine rods, and monstera leaves sit along its lower edge, forming a wreath. The middle stays open: you can see the rods receding, and the thicket reads as having a root.
The leaf form is taken almost literally — a broad plate with deep splits, through-holes and drawn venation. Warm gold with patina is mixed with cool oxidised turquoise: one plant at two ages.
By day it is a metal thicket on the ceiling — dense, graphic, living on the reflections in the mirrored base. In the evening the light emerges through the splits in the plates and lights the neighbouring leaves from below: a warm glow stands inside the wreath, the rods reflect and multiply it upward toward the base, and the outer surfaces stay subdued. A bush lit from within.
Where it works
Living rooms, winter gardens, spas, restaurant floors, reception rooms. Ceiling mounting needs no height — the piece suits places where a pendant is impossible.
Style
Tropical modernism and mid-century: fifties botany without the kitsch. The message is buoyant — a piece for an interior that loves greenery.
The base diameter, the number of leaves and the ratio of gold to turquoise are all made to order.
