A composition about brushwood. The rods hang almost horizontally at varied angles and cross one another, forming a three-dimensional lattice — the way gathered deadwood lies, where no branch repeats another's direction.

The layers run one beneath the other through the full height of the opening, twisting into a spiral. Density is uneven: in places the rods bunch together, elsewhere they hang alone.

By day it is brushwood suspended in the air: clear lines with gold collars, read graphically. In the evening light enters at the collar and runs both ways, flaring at the ends as points. Hundreds of horizontal glowing strokes at varied heights give the effect of a pencil drawing built in space — not a mass but a net of lines descending between floors.

Where it works

A vertical format — stairwells, atria, shafts between floors, double-height living rooms. The spiral is designed for the specific height and route of ascent.

Style

Contemporary minimalism and the graphic school: the stroke as the only element. The message is intellectual — a piece for a space that thinks.
