A composition about a downpour at sunset. The opal surface glows softly from within, without glare: the light seems dissolved in the mass rather than hidden inside it.
Every drop is an independent vertical line with a chrome tip; together they gather into a cloud. The chrome adds graphic quality — cold vertical strokes in a warm haze.
By day it is a pink-and-pearl stream with silver tops: a piece read through the rhythm of the verticals and the softness of the colour. In the evening the opal fills from within with an even glow, the chrome stays cold, and the composition becomes an arrested downpour lit by a sunset.
Where it works
A dense low stream above a table, a tall thinned cloud in an entrance hall, a cascade in a stairwell — the format is adjusted to the mood of the space.
Style
Romantic modern and contemporary classic: rain in a warm register. The message is tender — a piece for an interior with a soft palette.
The number of drops, the differences in height and the tone are all made to order.
