Lighting composition
LC0541
A composition about a fragility that must not be over-lit. The light here does not dominate, it accompanies: fine gold drop-luminaires are dissolved through the flock and underline the contours without destroying the lightness. The author deliberately dims the source so as not to kill the image.
The butterflies — clear and smoky, with gold accents on the bodies — hover as a cloud on fine suspensions.
By day the wings catch daylight and pass it on: reflections fly from facet to facet, and the swarm comes alive at any movement of air. In the evening the drops trace the contours in warmth while the wings themselves stay clear — what glows is not the butterflies but the lines between them.
Where it works
A dense swarm above a table, a sparse flock along a staircase, a vortex in an entrance hall — the size and the character of the flight are set at assembly. The composition adapts to any geometry.
Style
Art Nouveau and romantic modern: the butterfly as a classic motif of fragility. The message is light and poetic — a piece for an interior that does not want heaviness.
The number of butterflies, the palette of the wings and the shape of the cloud are all made to order.
