A composition about snow in headlights. The dense bubbled texture on V-shaped wings reads as frost on a window, and in the evening it gives the principal effect: the light breaks up in thousands of bubbles and shimmers like snow caught in a beam.

The column is vertical, and the body of every pair of wings carries a source that traces the contours in gold.

By day it is a column of ice: the texture reads against the light, the wings fold into a vertical rhythm, a cold and graphic piece. In the evening the texture takes the leading part — the light breaks up and shimmers over the whole height, and the column begins to tremble.

Where it works

Stairwells and narrow verticals. The composition takes no floor area but fills a height — ideal where there is no room for a bulky piece.

Style

Nordic Art Nouveau: the butterfly and the hoarfrost as paired motifs. The message is poetic and cool — a piece for an interior in a cold register.
