A thicket seen from below — the way a fish sees it. The rods vary in length and are slightly curved; they sway to the eye even in complete stillness.

Density is the point here: there are so many elements that the composition reads as a single body rather than a set of parts. Light gets inside and runs down the rod, so each tip glows as a separate drop — thousands of points within the mass of green.

By day the object looks like a dense green canopy; in the evening, like a thicket lit from a depth the eye cannot reach.
