Light hidden inside something that absorbs light. The surface is matte, downy, almost textile — it kills highlights completely, and that is the whole calculation.

Hundreds of points scattered through the mass read against such a background with full contrast, like sparks deep in moss. The composition does not shine — it smoulders, and that is a rare state for a light object.

By day it is a warm patch of colour with a rich texture, a piece you sense by touch rather than by glow. In the evening the mass disappears and what remains is a constellation suspended in the air with nothing holding it.
