A surface that flows into itself. The form folds and unfolds without a single corner — the tail of a fish, the wing of an insect, a wave at the moment it turns over: everything is recognised at once and nothing separately.

Every scale reflects light at its own angle, so moving along the composition sends waves of highlights running across it. The object does not move, yet it never looks frozen.

By day it is armour — dense, cold, blue-steel in cast, like blued metal. In the evening the light sets the scales alight from within, and the armour turns into a fish heading for deep water.
