A composition about a colony. Every element differs from its neighbour — three offshoots here, five there, a wider mouth on one, a narrower one on another. This is not variety for its own sake but accuracy: a colony consists of individuals, not of parts.

The pyramid is dense, the elements almost touching, thicker at the centre and thinned at the edges. From below the mass reads as continuous, like a real growth on a rock.

By day it is a limestone colony — white, matte, read through relief and the shadows between the offshoots. In the evening the light emerges through the open mouths as a warm milky patch and shows through the thin walls from inside, so the white fills with cream while the outer surfaces stay cool and opaque. The mouths face every direction — a reef lit from within.

Generous rooms — lobbies, pools and spas, double-height living rooms, winter gardens. The dense pyramid needs height; the soft glare-free light suits positions above water.
