Lighting composition

LC0042

A composition about the vine. The branches curl freely and interweave into a vertical spiral — a vine grows by clinging, and its form always follows a support. Here there is no support, so the vine winds around itself.

Berries of differing shapes, from small and round to large and elongated, are set in dense clusters like real fruit. The composition begins broad at the top and narrows below, where single bunches hang alone.

By day it is a vine with ripened clusters: clear berries mixed with copper-rose, a mirrored surface with a metallic sheen. In the evening light enters each berry at its base and fills it from within — the clear ones flash white, the copper ones fill with a dense warm tone, and each reflects its neighbour in its depth. The clusters signal to one another: a vineyard lit from inside.

Where it works

A vertical format — stairwells, atria, double-height living rooms, shafts between floors. The spiral is calculated for the specific height and viewpoint.

Style

Art Nouveau and Mediterranean classicism: the vine as one of the oldest decorative motifs. The message is generous and warm — a piece for an interior that speaks of abundance.

The overall height, the number of clusters and the ratio of clear to copper are all made to order.
