Light as art

Lighting composition

LC0041

The same spiral, with flowers instead of fruit. White cups with two or three reflexed petals, opaque outside and glowing within — closer to bindweed or calla, simplified down to a few planes. The author simplifies deliberately: this flower needs no botanical accuracy, only silhouette.

The flowers sit in clusters, facing every direction: some down, some sideways, some up. The spiral narrows below and ends in single buds.

By day it is a thicket of white bindweed on a chromed branch — cool, clean, graphic. In the evening the light emerges through the open mouth as a warm patch and lights the petals from within, so they fill with cream while the outsides stay cool and matte; the chromed branches reflect that light and turn into glowing lines between the flowers. A garland of luminous cups wound into a spiral.

Where it works

A vertical format — stairwells, atria, double-height living rooms, winter gardens. The spiral reads as you walk around and climb: the piece is designed for a moving viewer.

Style

Art Nouveau and Scandinavian minimalism: a botanical motif pared back to planes. The message is light and bright — a piece for a cool palette.

The overall height, the number of flowers, the density of the clusters and the finish of the branches are all made to order.
