A composition about miniature tornadoes. Cones with pleated skirts read as inverted glasses or as the funnels of a whirlwind — a form in which everything converges to a point below.

The composition is monochrome and architectural for it: only transparency, steel and light. The pleating breaks the rays into hundreds of facets.

By day it is a strict triangular swarm: the faceted surface catches light on all its planes, and the piece reads through brilliance and rhythm. In the evening the light inside every funnel is driven along the folds and comes out as a silver radiance — the swarm shimmers like frosty air under a street lamp.

Where it works

Above a long table, in a meeting room, in an entrance hall — wherever strict but living light is needed. The triangular swarm is calculated for the length of the zone.

Style

Contemporary minimalism and Art Deco: pleating instead of ornament. The message is strict — a piece for an interior that holds its form.
