A composition about the upstroke. A narrow curved sickle with sharp ends and a slight twist on its axis — the form reads both as a wing at the moment of lift and as a leaf caught by wind. The author does not specify which: what matters is not the nature of the thing but the phase of the movement.

The composition is drawn out horizontally and built in tiers: the elements hang at varied heights, turned in different directions, overlapping in places. The mass is not flat — it has depth, and the flock reads as volumetric.

By day it is gold graphics on the ceiling — mirrored strokes living on reflected daylight. In the evening a glowing rib flares on every wing: the light rolls out along the full length of the sickle, reflections multiply from element to element, and the composition begins to shimmer at the slightest shift of the eye. A flock caught at the moment of lift.

Where it works

An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, bar counters, meeting rooms, lobbies. It works where people pass beneath it and look along it, not across.

Style
