Wall composition
LC0163
A composition about an optical illusion. Every element is presented corner-forward, with three faces visible, and so reads now as a cube, now as a hexagon — depending on where you stand. This is the classic optical game known from parquet and mosaic: a volume that may turn out to be a plane.
The layout of finishes is not subordinated to any pattern — gold with patina, white and graphite are mixed freely. The surface looks alive rather than ornamental: there is no motif, only distribution.
By day the screen works through light, shade and reflection: the faces catch light differently and the plane shimmers of its own accord. In the evening the contour takes over — a fine glowing line traces every face, and the wall becomes a three-dimensional net hanging in the air. The gold cubes give a warm reflection, the white ones glow softly, the graphite ones stay voids.
Where it works
Zoning without a solid wall — separating a living room from a dining room, the entrance to a private area, a partition beside a staircase, a screen in a restaurant or hotel foyer. The gaps between elements pass air and light, so space is marked out rather than divided.
Style
Art Deco and optical modernism: geometry as the principal subject. The message is architectural — a piece that works with the structure of a space rather than its finishes.
The screen dimensions, the number of elements, the layout of finishes and the lighting scheme are all made to order.
