Lighting composition
LC0045
A composition about full bloom. The flowers sit close, in whole clusters, with gaps between them — the crown reads as grown rather than set out on a grid. This is a botanical principle: plants do not flower evenly but in sprays, and the author keeps to it.
The form is small, with three or four sharp reflexed petals and an open cup — closer to jasmine or lilac than to a large garden flower. The band sags at the centre and rises at the ends, like a real branch under its own weight.
By day it is a branch in full bloom: pearlescent on gold, bright and festive. In the evening the light passes through the thin petals and lights them from within — they fill with a warm milky tone and take on an iridescent cast at the rim, while the branches pick up the reflection and glow in fine lines through the mass of flowers. A cloud of luminous sprays.
Where it works
An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, bar counters, banquet and wedding halls, reception areas. The sag sets the lower limit above a table.
Style
Art Nouveau and romantic classicism: the flowering branch as a classic motif of celebration. The message is ceremonial and bright — a piece for an occasion.
The length, the number of flowers, the density of the sprays and the finish of the branches are all made to order.
