Light as art

Floor lamp

LC0023

A composition about an inverted crown. The bowl opens upward and tapers below to a sharp point: a cone standing on its tip — a crown set on the head, or a flower head caught by the stem. The form of authority, turned inside out.

Hundreds of small elements hang from a fine hoop — clear faceted drops and gold petals, mixed without system. The base is a cone of black stone with a bright white vein, and between it and the shade runs a slender stem reduced to a minimum. The contrast of heavy stone below and shimmering mass above holds the whole structure.

By day it is a sculptural object: a shimmering mass on black stone, expensive and dense. In the evening the light from deep in the bowl refracts in the drops and scatters into sparks, while the petals reflect it in warm patches. Not one source is visible directly — the mass itself glows, and the stone below picks up the reflection.

Where it works

Living rooms, halls, reception rooms, showrooms, restaurant floors. The light goes upward and sideways — the lamp gives volumetric illumination, not only an accent.

Style

Art Deco and Hollywood glamour: stone, gold, shimmer. The message is representative — a piece that states the level of an interior.

The height, the bowl diameter, the number of elements and the stone of the base are all made to order.
