The same cone, but set on stone — and a different object because of it. Instead of a light disc beneath the shade there is now a heavy wedge, and the lamp becomes substantial, almost architectural.

The difference in mass is the device: stone below, air above, a slender stem between them. The shade meanwhile stays as it was — airy, layered, full of gaps.

By day it is a stone column with a cluster on top — a contrast of weight read instantly. In the evening the clear elements transmit the light, the mirrored ones reflect it, and the stone below picks up the reflection until the white vein within it begins to glow.

Brutalist luxury and contemporary classicism: unworked stone, dark timber, brass. The message is support — a composition about lightness needing weight.
