A composition about the outline. A fine gold band runs along the rim of every petal, tracing the form and flaring at each bend. The device comes from jewellery: this is how cloisonné enamel is bounded so the colour cannot run. Here it holds nothing — it only draws.

The mass is gathered into a lens shape: wide at the centre, tapering to sharp points at both ends. The petals are layered, each turned differently; the upper half is given over to the hatching of the suspension threads, the whole mass sits below.

By day it is an armful of petals caught on a gold thread: milky white with a hot contour, a graphic piece. In the evening the white diffuses the light and glows evenly, without a single flare, while the gold rims intercept it and trace every petal with a burning line. The source is never visible — the mass itself glows, drawn out by hundreds of gold outlines. A cloud with burning edges.

Where it works

An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, banquet and wedding halls, lobbies, meeting rooms. The soft glare-free light is comfortable directly above a table.

Style

Art Deco and jewellery-inflected modernism: the outline as the only ornament. The message is festive and restrained at once — a piece for an interior that celebrates quietly.
