A composition about a wingbeat. The mass is gathered into a lens — broad at the centre, tapering to sharp points at both ends; the petals are turned along the axis, in layers. You read an open fan, or a wing at the top of its span: a form that exists for a single instant.

Each petal is narrow and pointed, twisted on its axis, each with a slightly different bend. Crimson-purple is mixed with polished gold.

By day it is an open fan: deep wine colour with a mirrored sheen beside gold, dense and ceremonial. In the evening the purple transmits the light and fills from within to wine, while the gold reflects it and flares hot — the glow comes out uneven, cool sitting next to burning, and the composition shimmers. A firebird's feather stretched above a table.

Where it works

An elongated horizontal format — long dining tables, bar counters, reception rooms, restaurant floors. Saturated colour needs a calm setting.

Style

Art Deco and Eastern opulence: purple with gold as a classic pairing. The message is vivid and regal — a piece for an interior unafraid of colour.
