A composition about a garland that stayed for good. The branch spreads above the table as one continuous line — a festive gesture stripped of its occasion and therefore fit for every day.

The leaves have a lifelike curve, as though they had just unfurled; between them, points of light burn in the branch.

By day it is white on polished gold — the clean graphic of a leaf, a dressy and light piece. In the evening the points lift the gloss from below and the leaves begin to throw warm highlights onto one another: the garland comes alive the way a real branch comes alive under a lamp.
