Lighting composition
LC0361
A composition about a cluster. The branches hang down in a dense cone, narrowing toward the bottom and ending in a few solitary sprigs — like a real cluster pulled toward the ground by its own weight. The form is set by weight rather than by drawing.
Every leaf is elongated, slightly curved, with a sharp tip, veining and an uneven edge — taken from a real tree and gilded.
By day the object works as a sculpture in a bronze register: matte patina, deep shadows between the leaves, a heavy and calm piece. In the evening the light comes out of the depth of the canopy in warm rays and lifts the foliage from below — the gold begins to glow from inside, the shadows turn velvet. A burning bush.
Where it works
Double-height living rooms, stairwells, the zone above a low coffee table in a lounge — wherever the composition is looked at from below. The light goes downward: bright under the cluster, dim around it.
Style
Art Nouveau and natural opulence: gold foliage as a classic motif of abundance. The message is generous and warm — a piece for an interior that receives.
The height of the cluster, the density of the foliage and the finish of the patina are all made to order.
