A composition with a plot of its own. The birds here are not decoration but participants in a scene: one dives, another hovers, a third is only approaching, and the beaks are turned toward the flowers. The wisteria cascade descends as a vertical cluster, the hummingbirds hang around it on separate cables — the composition tells a story rather than decorating a ceiling.

Every corolla carries a warm point of light, the branches are golden, the flowers a cold blue-grey.

By day the combination of dusty blue and matte gold looks noble and restrained: the piece reads through colour and silhouette. In the evening the flowers light up from within and the hummingbirds begin to throw highlights — the scene comes alive and the birds seem genuinely to move.

Where it works

A vertical format — stairwells and double-height living rooms where the scene is visible entire. The composition tells its story only in full view: cropped in height, it loses its point.
