A composition about a dandelion. Hundreds of tubular elements radiate in every direction from a central sphere, and at the end of each is a gold ball, like a seed on a parachute. The form is spherical but not rigid: the tubes vary slightly in length, so the silhouette is a little downy, alive.

The glow is split into two parts: a soft milky light along the whole length of the tubes and gold points of highlight on top of it. Neither gets in the way of the other.

By day it is a white sculpture with gold accents — clean, almost souvenir-clear in its image. In the evening the sphere becomes a source of even diffused light that throws no shadows and fills the room entirely, while the gold balls hold the eye.

Where it works

The compact format makes the piece universal — above a dining table, in a bedroom, in a child's room, in a meeting room. Shadowless light is convenient where people work and eat.

Style

Scandinavian minimalism and mid-century: the sphere as the purest of forms. The message is light and friendly — a piece for an interior with no pretension.
