The same story in white. The absence of colour shifts the accent onto plasticity: you can see how each flower is coiled along a spiral, how the edge turns, how light flows out of the depth of the bowl. Nothing distracts from form.

Dark birds against a white ground read graphically, like silhouettes on paper: they give the composition rhythm and keep it from turning sugary. That one contrast carries the whole piece.

By day the object looks refined, expensive, faintly museum-like — white gloss and dark metal, nothing surplus. In the evening the flowers fill with warm light and the birds begin to reflect that glow, and the scene comes alive: the white stops being cold.

Where it works
