A thicket translated into the vertical. Stalks with swollen joints reproduce bamboo down to the rings at the nodes — a replica taken to botanical accuracy.

Gaps remain between the stalks: the screen lets through both light and sight, yet it still divides. It does not cut the space off; it turns the passage between zones into a walk through a grove.

By day it is a thicket set in the transparent — a graphic of verticals with a honeyed cast. In the evening light from below makes the stalks glow along their full height, and the grove becomes a wall of light with a rhythm.
