Tiling on a tower, scales on a tail. The elements are set overlapping and offset — a construction invented independently by nature and by builders, each for their own purpose.

Two finishes give two different objects from one geometry: in warm gold the column reads as heavy, cast, almost jewel-like; in cool silver as fish-like, mobile, aquatic. The choice here determines the whole scene around it.

By day it is a sculptural column — dense, rhythmic, architectural. In the evening the light creeps from top to bottom through the gaps between the layers, and the column becomes a shaft assembled out of burning plates.

Where it works

For stairwells, narrow tall openings, entrance groups, zones beside panoramic glazing, piers.

Style

Art Deco and contemporary opulence: vertical divisions, metal, symmetry. The message is armour — a composition about protection that is beautiful precisely because it is functional.
