The birds do not glow — the flowers do. The division of roles is strict: source below, reflector above, and the whole scene rests on the hunter being lit by its prey.

The form of the birds is reduced to a few planes but is recognised instantly. Part of the flock is mirrored and gold, part matte and graphite — the variety keeps it alive rather than stamped out.

By day it is sculpture: dark silhouettes, polished flanks, pure plasticity. In the evening a flower lights up beneath every bird, and warm patches appear on the polished metal — a flock hovering above the field that lights it.
