A composition about a piece of jewellery at the scale of an interior. Large faceted links are joined by gold bushings into live vertical chains — literally a jewel enlarged to the size of a chandelier.

The palette runs as a gradation: from pale lavender to deep amethyst, and the chains chime with one another in shades.

By day it is faceted lilac links catching daylight and scattering it across the walls — a piece read through colour and faceting. In the evening light enters the link through the bushing and leaves the facets in lilac flashes: the chain lights from within, link by link.

Where it works

Boudoirs, dressing rooms, boutiques, private living rooms. The saturated colour asks for neutral surroundings; lilac highlights tint the walls — the background should be quiet.

Style

Art Deco and jewelled Art Nouveau: the gemstone chain as a classic of adornment. The message is bold and feminine — a piece for an interior that is not afraid of colour.
