Lighting composition
LC0492
A composition about a vine on a column. The branches climb the wall from bottom to top, and the composition turns a plane into a flowering relief — a gardener's device: a plant is trained up a support so that the wall stops being a wall.
Along the branches grow glossy domes ranging from the size of a palm to the size of a saucer, and between them clusters of clear bubbles and curls.
By day it is a painterly relief in a powdery pink register — tender and rare for light decor; the composition reads through the silhouette of the vine and the calibres of the domes. In the evening a warm light comes on inside the domes, the bubbles pick it up and scatter it in sparks, and the vine begins to flower in light.
Where it works
Accent walls — entrance halls, living rooms, boudoirs, bedrooms, boutiques. The vertical vine sits on a pier or runs alongside a stair flight.
Style
Art Nouveau and romantic modern: the vine as a classic wall motif. The message is feminine and tender — a piece for an interior with a soft palette.
The height of the vine, the number of domes and the density of the scattering are all made to order.
