A composition about an orchestra before a concert. Trumpets of differing calibre look up, down and sideways — that is how a brass section looks while the players tune up: the directions are random, but everyone is doing one job.

The branches wind into a dense tangle, the green elements are used sparingly — they enliven the white mass and add a botanical note without turning the piece into a plant.

By day it is white with olive on chrome: a matte surface, polished metal, a composition read through the form of the trumpets. In the evening light comes out of the depth of each one as a soft cone — the composition delivers genuine working light rather than only an image, and the different directions wash the room from several sides.

Where it works

Living rooms, dining rooms, lobbies, meeting rooms. The trumpets are aimed at assembly: the composition can light the table, the wall or the ceiling as chosen.
