Decorative composition
LC0160
A composition about weaving. A four-pointed star whose tips converge toward the centre, with concave sails forming between them — joined at their points, the elements give a continuous lozenge net. The device is taken from textiles: the screen is not assembled but woven.
The gold elements are scattered across the white field not evenly but in groups, on the diagonal. The pattern reads as random flashes within the mass, and that enlivens the strict geometry — the net stops being mechanical.
By day the screen works through light and shade: each sail is slightly concave and catches the light its own way, so the plane never looks uniform. In the evening the light emerges through the openings of the net — the white sails diffuse it and glow softly, the gold ones intercept it and throw hard highlights. The fabric begins to shimmer from within.
Where it works
Zoning — separating a living room from a dining room, a screen at an entrance group, a partition in a spa, a backdrop behind reception. The open-work net steals almost no light, so it suits darker zones.
Style
A Moorish motif in a contemporary reading: the mashrabiya grille without ornamental overload. The message is decorative but restrained — a piece that adorns without dominating.
The screen dimensions, the number of elements, the share of gold and the lighting scheme are all made to order.
