A composition about a break. The surface is uneven, with cavities and matte patches — not a product but a splinter of ice or a slab of rock salt. The author deliberately avoids smoothness: what is valued here is looking found rather than made.

Plates of differing size are laid in vertical bands offset in height — the masonry is uneven, with steps and gaps. Dark slots run between them, passing air and some light. The slim frame is visible but does not argue with the mass: it works as hard rhythm against ragged masonry.

By day the screen looks like a wall of ice — cold, white-grey, almost opaque, living on texture alone. In the evening light is fed in at the rim and spreads unevenly across each plate, emphasising the relief: thicker means duller, thinner means brighter. A glacier lit from within.

Where it works

Zoning — separating a living room from a dining room, a panel in spas and pool areas, a partition beside a staircase, a backdrop behind reception. A nearly opaque plane gives full privacy while still glowing.

Style

Nordic minimalism and organic architecture: cold, stone and irregularity as an aesthetic. The message is severe and clean — a piece for an interior without embellishment.
