Wall composition

LC0121

A composition about a wreath coming apart. The main mass is laid in a dense overlapping ring, but on the right the feathers break away one after another: first in a group, then in pairs, then alone. The last of them — the palest, almost white — hang far from the wreath and act as the point the eye is led toward.

A closed form with one side opened always reads as a process. The author uses that: the wreath is not broken, it is flying away.

The palette is warm and autumnal — copper, burnt bronze, dark ochre, with gold and near-white feathers across the field. By day the panel reads through colour and gradient: the ribbed surface of close barbs catches the light in bands. In the evening the backlight emerges along the rims and traces every feather with a fine gold line — the mass gains volume, and the departing tail lights up separately from the ring.

Where it works

Feature walls — halls, stair landings, private living rooms, reception areas, gallery spaces. An open composition needs room to the right: the tail must run into empty space rather than into a corner.

Style

Art Deco and autumn classicism: the feather as a motif of opulence, movement as the subject. The message is poetic — a picture-piece for a wall that leads the eye.

The overall size, the number of feathers, the length of the departing tail and the palette are all made to order.
