A composition about a ring that burns only at its edge. The band is broad, its surface wavy, crushed and twisted along its whole length; the inner opening is not a circle but a living contour with swellings and lobes. There is no correct geometry anywhere.

A small matte sphere sits in the upper part, slightly off centre — and it is the only source. Its light runs along the inner rim, tracing the opening with a hot line, while the outer surface stays reflective.

By day it is a metal ring-sculpture: each wave carries its own elongated band of highlight, and as you walk past they shift — the object looks mobile. In the evening the outer part falls into shadow, and what remains is a hoop burning along its inner edge — the glowing contour of an emptiness.

Where it works

Entrance halls, corridors, bedrooms, private living rooms, stair flights, reception areas. The light is directed into the ring and onto the wall — the fitting works as an accent rather than as illumination.

Style

Contemporary sculpture and organic modernism: a ring without a single straight line. The message is spare — a piece for a wall that needs one object only.
