The same ribbon in a dark reading — and that changes its nature. Here it lets almost no light through and works as silhouette; only a chain of lights along the edge gives away that this is a luminaire.

The composition holds an international award. The device is built on refusal: the colour is removed, the transparency is removed, only the trajectory is left.

By day the form reads as silhouette — a sail, the wing of a ray, a sheet of paper caught by a draught; the double fold gives the eye nowhere to settle. In the evening only the chain of lights along the edge remains: the body disappears and a single trajectory hangs in the dark.

Where it works

Good in interiors with a dark palette: private living rooms, bars, lounges, studies, restaurants with subdued light.

Style
