Light as art

Mirrors

LC0324

A form caught at the moment of compression. The body looks crushed by hand — uneven facets, creases, the marks of pressure — and that is the only thing happening in it.

Three versions differ in the character of the crumpling, and no frame repeats another. Repeatability here would be a defeat — the piece is built on every example being the only one of its kind.

By day the body reads as crumpled: uneven facets, creases, the marks of pressure — the piece works through plasticity alone. In the evening the light escapes only around the perimeter, from under the edge, drawing the contour as a fine line, while the core stays dark: a window into a room where the light has already been switched off.

Where it works

Entrance halls, corridors, private studies, stair flights, gallery walls — wherever a wall light works as an accent rather than as a source of general light.

Style

Brutal minimalism and contemporary art: concrete, rough stone, large empty planes. The message is the force of the substance — an object about the trace of effort being worth more than a smooth surface.

The size, the depth of the relief and the finish are all made to order.
