A composition about the body of water. Discs with a deep funnel at the centre — a section like a lens: they are not merely coloured a marine shade, they accumulate it. The rim betrays the thickness, and within it the colour moves from azure to deep blue, the way water moves away from a shore.

Discs of varying calibre are set in layers and at random: some face straight ahead, some are turned edgewise, some overlap their neighbours. At the centre of every funnel is a gold hemisphere, the only warm point in a cold palette.

By day it is a sculpture in colour: the discs work through reflection and the colour reads as flat. In the evening the light lives in the gold cores: it enters from the centre, spreads to the edges and refracts through the body — one disc reflects inside another, and not a single source reads directly. The column becomes a pillar of water lit from beneath.

Where it works

Living rooms, spas, reception rooms, restaurant interiors, spaces with a marine theme. Saturated colour needs a neutral ground — against a pale wall it reads more precisely.
