The same bouquet, gathered more quietly. The umbrellas stand closer together and almost at one level — not a scattered inflorescence but a dense head from which the light comes out in a single broad pool. The change in spacing between the discs changes the whole character of the piece: there it was a garden, here it is one flower.

The stems rise from the base in a strict bunch, and the vertical reads cleaner than in the loose version.

By day it is graphic work in pleated discs on golden stems: the relief is read through light and shade, the silhouette is compact and spare. In the evening light from the cores runs out along the folds and gathers into one shared glow — the lamp gives not a scatter of haloes but an even warm circle beside the armchair.

Where it works

Beside a reading chair, at a bedhead, in a study, in a private sitting room. The dense head throws its light in a single gather: the piece works not only as an image but as a working source.

Style

Art Nouveau and contemporary classic: botany in a restrained reading. The message is intimate — a piece for an interior that has no need to raise its voice.
