Floor lamp

A composition about a grove. Fine tubes of differing height rise from the floor — a stand of bamboo or a rank of organ pipes; between them, threaded on rods, hover large leaves twisted helically, with a wavy edge and a deep lens inside.
The thickness here behaves like water: the reflections of the neighbouring tubes gather in the leaf, and the object never looks the same from two positions.
By day the floor lamp reads as a transparent sculpture — all but invisible, only highlights and contours. In the evening the light enters at the end of the rod, travels its whole length and flares at the bends: the leaves fill with warmth and a soft radiance spreads around the base. The transparent becomes more noticeable at night than by day.
Two finishes change the character of the piece completely. Chrome — cold, technical, for glass and concrete. Gold — warm, enveloping, for wood, leather and muted tones.
Where it works
Solo beside an armchair, in a pair flanking a sofa or a portal. In a pair of differing heights the floor lamps read as a small grove — a device for generous living rooms and entrance halls.
Style
Natural Art Nouveau and contemporary classic: a plant taken apart into verticals. The message is calm — a piece for an interior that loves form without colour.
The height, the number of tubes and leaves and the finish of the rods are all made to order.

They do not merely reflect light — they shape it, refract it and direct it, creating a sense of a living, flowing structure. The form seems to be in constant motion, yet fixed in a single moment. Metal rods set a strict vertical and balance the organic plasticity of the glass. The contrast of cool geometry and flowing form makes the floor lamp both an architectural and a sensual object. It works not as an ordinary light source but as an art object: by day a sculpture, in the evening a quiet, voluminous light with depth and highlights.
