One floe, stood against the wall. A single plate is taken out of the ring — rough, chipped, full of inclusions in its depth — and hung vertically: what was a point of the crown in the composition has become a shard of its own here.

The device stays as it was: the light enters from above and lodges in the depth without passing through. The plate glows not against the light but from within, diffused.

By day it is texture and nothing besides: the uneven surface, the chipped edge, the inclusions read close to. In the evening the depth fills with diffused glow while the edge stays dark — a floe under a low sun, set upright.

Where it works

Entrance halls, bathrooms, bedrooms at the bedhead, corridors. Soft diffused light without highlights suits places where the light must not dazzle. It also works as a companion to composition LC0332 — the same ice on the walls around a round table.

Style

Nordic minimalism and eco-modernism: pale wood, linen, stone, a muted palette. The message is natural honesty — the piece does not pretend to be precious, it pretends to have been found.
