An artefact raised from the sea floor. An irregular trunk, a porous rough surface with runs down it, gold trumpet-cups grown into it like polyps — the object looks found rather than made.

Hanging strands with hundreds of sparks at their ends give a second light part: the trumpets throw directed light, the strands shimmer diffusely. Two lights with different characters in one object.

By day it is a biological specimen scaled up to the size of a chandelier. In the evening it becomes a reef in a diver's torch beam: you see only what the light has caught, the rest goes off into blackness.
