Landscape sculpture
LC0250
A form that refuses to be named. A shell, a sail, a petal, a wave — the object reads as all of these and as none in particular, and that ambiguity is deliberate.
The polish is taken to a mirror, so the sculpture changes with the sky: silver in the morning, gold at sunset, almost gone at night. It has no permanent appearance — the weather supplies it.
A mirrored sphere in the lower bowl gathers everything around it into a single globe: the park, the sky, the viewer. By day the object reflects the world; in the evening it dissolves into it.
Where it works
Parks, the grounds of private residences, entrance groups, embankments, forecourts of hotels and offices.
Style
Contemporary sculpture and landscape minimalism: gravel, clipped greenery, the clean geometry of a setting. The message is a dialogue with the sky — a piece that works not on its own but together with the light of the day.
The height, the surface finish and the material of the plinth are all made to order.
