Vargov®Design at Russky Dom 2026
From 7 to 9 October at Gostiny Dvor we are showing the LC0556 composition — in the capsule “The Quiet Strength of Kamchatka”, stand K62, in the Ice and Mist zone.
From 7 to 9 October, Gostiny Dvor in Moscow hosts Russky Dom (Russian House), an interior design exhibition. This year’s theme is “Russian House: The Heart of Russia”.
Stand K62 is home to the capsule “The Quiet Strength of Kamchatka. How nature becomes interior”, authored by Tokareva Design. It reveals the character of Kamchatka through light, matter, sound, scent, taste and touch, and its seven zones form a route: from the elemental force of nature to people and dialogue.
Vargov®Design is one of the capsule’s participants. In its list, our name comes with the words “Light as a work of art”.
The Ice and Mist zone
Our light is in the second zone of the route. Its subtitle is “Between clarity and mystery”, and the capsule’s authors describe it in a few words: here form becomes almost weightless, ice holds the light, and fog erases the boundaries between object and space.
The boundary glows
LC0556 is a composition with a plot: out of a wave a school of manta rays emerges, and the sea begins to move. Turquoise ribbons curve into the crests of waves or into mountain ridges, with points of warm light scattered along their edges. By day, depending on where you stand, you read now waves, now the wings of the rays, now a mountain range.
In the evening the edges light up, the rays go into shadow, and what remains is an aurora over water. What glows is the boundary, not the mass — almost exactly what the zone is about. The light holds to a thin line, as in ice, while the outline of the piece itself dissolves into half-shadow, as in fog. Clarity at the edge, mystery everywhere else.
