A leaf crumpled and smoothed out again. Every crease is left in place — that is the work: a piece about the trace of effort rather than about a smooth surface.
The gilding is applied unevenly, with darkening in the recesses, so the relief reads with contrast: the raised parts burn, the hollows go to shadow. The mirror at the core distorts the room like a fisheye lens, drawing the space into the flower.
The light escapes from under the petals around the perimeter and draws the contour. The result is a sun with a dark pupil — a form that radiates and absorbs at once.
By day it is relief: creases, shadow, the room reflected in the pupil. In the evening it is an eclipse stopped at the second when the corona is already visible and the disc is still black.
Where it works
An accent wall: an entrance hall, above a console, in a study, in a private living room, in a gallery space.
Style
Art Deco and contemporary art: large empty planes, dark walls, minimal furniture. The message is preciousness — the object works like a brooch scaled up to the size of a panel.
The diameter, the character of the crumpling and the finish of the mirror are all made to order.

The form does not copy the flower literally but conveys its character — softness, fragility and, at the same time, inner strength. The metallised surface heightens the effect of living movement: light glides across the curves, emphasising the rhythm of the petals and creating a sense of the form breathing. The central mirror hollow becomes the notional heart of the flower, drawing in the space and the reflections of the interior. This is a stylisation as a symbol of the moment, of silence and natural harmony, expressed in the language of a contemporary art object.
