A find lifted out of a dig. The figure is wrapped in bands carrying signs — pictograms, symbols, something like writing that cannot be read and makes you want to.

The plasticity rests on contrast: a heavy dense top and an almost weightless base, where the figure balances on a small stand. It stands as though it were about to rock — and does not.

By day it is an archaeological object: faded stone, pale signs on dark, a dry texture. Under directional light the signs gain contrast and begin to read as an inscription that means something.

Three viewpoints are shown: the pattern of signs differs on every side and walking around is essential.
